Content: Although there is no consense regarding the amount to which artificial intelligence and robots could replace work, the number of empirical and theoretical research indicating a significant change within the employment structure is increasing. Few studies focus on the short-term consequences for employees. To fill this research gap, we developed an agent-based modell to research current dynamics on the labour market focusing on digital compentences allowing to simulate (mis-)match-situations. This analysis will contribute tp provide political decision-makers with information about the consequences of the digital revolution with respect to the employability of the Austrian work force.
Speaker: Laura Zilian is scientific project team member at Graz Schumpeter Centre and at the Institute of Systems Sciences, Innovation and Sustainability Research. Her research focuses on the consequences of technological change for different aspects of work.
