Network

World’s most innovative institutions are analogous to symbioses in nature: successful by teaming up experts of different disciplines. When establishing these symbiotic networks, one starts at local level, but has to subsequently enlarge them on regional, national, and finaly, international level.

At the University of Graz, i.e. at local level, COLIBRI -- Complexity of Life in Basic Research and Innovation is such an interdisciplinary initiative for the research of complex systems with focus on the complexity of living systems. Grasping these complexities necessitates a transdisciplinary approach. In consequence, we integrate joint research of several institutes across 4 faculties:

Also for the COLIBRI initiative, this provides a fertile soil for establsihing cooperative research endevours on regional and national level. In the follwowing we list regional and national partners, collaborating with us in research projects within COLIBRI:

Within our Filed of Excellence, already existing relationships of COLIBRI members with international researchers and research institutions are extended as well as further promoted and strengthened through reciprocal research visits and invitations, guest professorships and workshop activities. Through this stimulating environment, joint, high-ranking publications and joint international researc projects are promoted. In the following, there are the listings of our international partners:
