Complexity of Mental Processing: Perceived Credibility of Health Information
I am a psychologist and doctoral student affiliated with the Graz Department of Psychology. I am working on my PhD while participating in the FWF-funded interdisciplinary research project A+CHIS - Human-Centered Interactive Adaptive Visual Approaches in High-Quality Health Information. In my research I investigate the perceived credibility of health information, aiming to identify the factors at both the individual and information level that influence how information credibility is judged. I am particularly interested in errors in credibility judgements, such as instances where valid information is deemed not credible and vice versa. My research aims to develop a better understanding of variables that affect an individual's judgement of which information is credible, which can lead to the development of effective interventions aimed at correcting false beliefs in the domain of health information.
