Extracellular factors for slime moulds’ network growth
My research stands at the intersection of biology, technology, and theoretical science, showcasing an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the complex behaviours of Physarum polycephalum. The core of my research focuses on examining the growth behaviour of this fascinating organism, which requires a nuanced understanding of its unique biological processes. To address my research question, I developed and implemented various novel techniques that leverage modern technology and theoretical frameworks. These techniques include, for example, 3D modelling/printing, sensoric, image analysis, programming, physics and mathematics. Through these innovative techniques, I aim to contribute significantly to the field, offering new perspectives and tools for studying slime moulds and potentially other organisms.
