Empowering Democratic Citizenship in the Age of AI: Assessing and providing the competencies for using an AI Tool on an e-participation platform

I am a Ph.D. student at the institute for psychology, currently working in the EU project ITHACA - Artificial Intelligence to enhance civic participation. My work focuses on the integration of Artificial Intelligence aligned with human rights for the development of an interactive online platform for citizens. This includes ethical considerations, required AI skills and knowledge for citizens and enhanced accessibility for the inclusion of vulnerable groups in the context of digitalization. I have a great interest in exploring the benefits of technology for often marginalized groups, educating them about its use and functionality and encouraging critical reflection.
